This is routine manual labor work in general maintenance, construction, or labor activities.
Examples of Duties:
Equipment: Uses a variety of maintenance equipment, which may include: push mowers, riding mowers, weedeaters, pitchforks, light powered tools and hand tools.
General Maintenance: Performs general mainte¬nance duties: loading and unloading materials from the truck physically or using a shovel, mowing, trimming, using push broom to sweep debris from streets and setting up equipment. May perform facility maintenance including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, painting and emptying trash barrels. May be required to manually lift up to 40 pounds on a routine basis and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
Vehicle/Equipment Maintenance: Performs general preventative maintenance on equipment. Cleans and checks equipment to keep in safe operating condition.
High School diploma or GED preferred but not required. Six months experience in heavy manual labor preferred. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Licenses/Certificates: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must be able to communicate clearly and courteously to assist others. Abili¬ty to become skillful in the safe operation of stan¬dard hand tools, light powered tools, lawn equipment, and a variety of maintenance equipment. Ability to work in varied outdoor elements. Ability to do excessive walking over uneven ground. Ability to learn repeti¬tive tasks quickly. Ability to remain calm in stress¬ful situations.
