Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing manual labor with a wide variety of construction and maintenance work. Depending on area of assignment, may be responsible for providing laundry and repair/mending service to maintain table skirts and covers. Exercises no supervision.
Essential Job Functions:
Performs routine cleaning of municipal buildings, facilities and surrounding grounds to include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, cleaning and polishing furniture, washing walls, cleaning windows, stripping and refinishing floors, and as necessary mowing grass and performing minor trimming of trees and shrubs.
Performs minor building maintenance incidental to the performance of routine custodial duties (i.e. change and maintain light fixtures).
Sets up tables, chairs, and other fixtures for use during special activities and takes them down and stores them after use.
Receives, stores and maintains adequate stock of supplies
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
One (1) year of experience in labor or maintenance.
Valid Texas 'C' Driver's License. WORK LOCATION :
At the Department's Discretion, the Work Location and Days/Hours May Be Subject to Change. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of up to 50 pounds.

Knowledge of methods, equipment, and materials as they relate to the type of work being performed.
Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
Ability to learn basic laundering techniques, depending on area of assignment.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to perform all physical requirements of the job.
