The position is located in the Division of Support Services, Elko District Office under the direct supervision of the Assistant District Manager, Support Services. The position serves as the Maintenance Worker for all administrative facilities in the Elko District. These facilities include California National Historic Trail Interpretive Center (CNHTIC) and District Office (EDO) in Elko, NV. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of all grounds, buildings, structures, security systems, and utilities located in the district.

There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, the applicant must be able to demonstrate through experience shown in the resume materials, that they possess the skill level that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision.

Passage of a pre-employment physical is required.The physical demands of this position requires moderate to heavy physical effort, including considerable bending, walking, climbing, and lifting of heavy objects. Work assignments may require the employee to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee frequently lifts, carries and sets up materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
D.O.T. DRUG TESTING REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION. This position requires possession of a Commercials Driver’s License (CDL) and is a Drug and Alcohol Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Omnibus Transportation Employee Testing Act of 1991. If the person selected for the position does not currently occupy a CDL Drug and Alcohol Testing Designated Position they must submit to and receive a negative test result prior to appointment. A positive drug or alcohol test result may be grounds for denying final placement into this position. The Act also mandates that the incumbent is subject to random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Drivers Licence within 90 days of selection.
