Location: This position is within the VA Service and Distribution Center in Hines, IL.

Travel and Relocation expenses will not be paid. DUTIES:
Planning and scheduling station level projects required to maintain buildings, and 27 acres of grounds and daily operations: painting, equipment and vehicle maintenance; repair of buildings; fire system testing and security camera inspection.
Maintain an operating level of supplies: building, plumbing, electrical, chemical, solvents, paints, tools, and equipment to perform daily maintenance and repairs as required/needed.
Determining services required to keep the Service and Distribution Center facility in good working order at all times; plumbing, heating, conditioning, electrical problems etc. to alleviate disruption of services to facility and tenant operations.
Act as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) on all contracts and/or purchase orders for services, repairs, construction, supplies, equipment etc., to ensure that all requirements, specifications, materials, and quality standards were met prior to the validation of contract and/or purchase order.

To qualify there is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate enough experience in your application to show you possess sufficient potential to learn and advance as a Maintenance Worker. This position requires the ability to perform common maintenance tasks without more than normal supervision.
