As Maintenance Worker, WG-4749-07, you will construct or repair items, such as scaffolds, panels, bins, pallets, concrete forms, dry walls, sheathing, and roofing decking.
You will also:
-Install exterior and interior trim using preplanned materials, such as baseboard, molding and fascia boards.
-Replace broken or missing acoustical ceiling tile, broken door and window trim, window screens, stairway steps, railings, siding, door jambs, and other damaged wood components.
-Measure, cuts, bends and threads pipe and tile.
-Checks operation and performs preventive inspections to small parts and sections of existing systems, such as water heaters, disposal units and faucets.

To qualify for this position a specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. SCREEN OUT ELEMENT:
Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid work on the same basis as for paid experience. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. To receive credit for such experience you must indicate clearly the nature of the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the number of hours per week spent in such employment.

Occasionally the employee may be required to drive a motor vehicle up to and including 2-1/2 ton trucks, fire trucks, fueling trucks, engineering and construction equipment and operate a forklift up to 15,000 pound capacity.
An appropriate drivers license may be required for the position.
The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, shift work and occasional overtime.
3. The employee may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
This position may require the employee to work under adverse environmental conditions.
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.

Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance as a condition of employment.
Uses hand and power tools and equipment that may require standing and holding tools in uncomfortable positions for extended periods.
The work requires considerable bending, kneeling, climbing and stooping.
On site work requires strenuous physical exertion when handling heavy and bulky materials.
Work typically requires bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing on ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and rooftops.
Frequently lifts and carries material and equipment that weigh up to 40 pounds, unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.
Painting work may be at extreme heights (such as water towers or tall buildings) that require the employee to be strapped into swing stages.
The work is done inside and outside, and is usually dirty, dusty, and greasy, with spray and fumes usually present.
May work in confined areas such as crawl spaces and attics.
In shops, is exposed to moderate or high noise levels from operating machinery, sawdust in the air, glue, fumes, and hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment including hazards of working on and around scaffolds and ladders.
The employee is sometimes required to make repairs and installations outside in all types of weather.
The employee is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, scrapes, contusions, burns, and infections.
May occasionally be exposed to the possibility of broken bones.
Protective equipment and clothing, such as safety shoes, earplugs, safety glasses or sun glasses, gloves, rain gear, hard hats, coveralls, respirators, and other protective gear are required, which are sometimes heavy and uncomfortable.
