MAINTENANCE WORKER I - Temporary Position
Perform Center maintenance in compliance with government and management directives.
-- Maintain and repair structures, electrical systems, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and drainage systems.
-- Repair or replace faulty or damaged light fixtures, outlets, fuses, etc.
-- Perform minor construction and repair of structural woodwork.
-- Install window shades or coverings and security locks.
-- Perform repair or replacement of plumbing, fixtures, washers, seals, etc.
-- Prepare surfaces for finishing, i.e. painting, as directed.
-- Perform preventive maintenance checks of buildings and equipment, and routine checks of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
-- Perform roads and grounds maintenance on property.
-- Assist in controlling use of supplies, facilities, and equipment.
-- Respond to after-hours maintenance emergency calls.
-- Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff and other Center customers.
-- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
-- Provide day-to-day work direction to work-based learning students assigned to the department.
-- Support and promote Center zero tolerance polices.
-- Promote the development of career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
-- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices; attend all required staff training. Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a temporary position of uncertain duration.

HS diploma or equivalent and four years experience in various related maintenance disciplines. Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
