Title: Outside Maintenance Worker

Supervisor: Maintenance Supervisor
Under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Outside Maintenance Worker
will assist in the maintenance and repairs for the establishment of the Pala
Band of Mission Indians facilities and perform related work as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides daily maintenance of the Pala Band of Mission Indians facilities
Responsible for maintenance supplies and performs weekly inventory of supplies
for department usage.
Performs outside services as needed which includes but not limited to: light
plumbing, repair and maintenance of building and equipment, dry wall repair,
tile installation and repair, landscaping, painting, garbage pick-up.
Assists in the construction and maintenance of the access roads.
Performs building set-up for tribal functions when requested.
Performs other related duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the practices, methods, tools and equipments used in the building
and mechanical trades.
Knowledge of the operation and care of equipment, tools, and supplies related to
the care of buildings and materials.
Ability to maintain appropriate records and reports.
High School graduate or equivalent education (GED) or related fields.
Minimum 1 year work experience.
Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace as a condition of
employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians.
Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing during employment. A DMV
print-out with a valid class “C” driver’s license and background check
will be required.
Indian preference will apply. The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring
preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal Members. Pala Band
