Inspect machinery and mechanical equipment for defects.
Dismantle machinery or mechanical equipment to gain access to defective or worn parts and repair or remove and replace using power or hand tools as appropriate.
Repair cloth or rubber drive belts and replace them as needed.
Conduct in-house maintenance and inspection of assigned machinery and mechanical equipment following appropriate maintenance schedule. Document adherence to maintenance schedules.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys and other parts of machine, using appropriate materials and chemicals.
Measure, cut, and install pipe and tubing for gas, water and hydraulic lines, using ratchet, cutting die, and threading die.
Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and other plumbing equipment. Open clogged drains, using plunger and plumber’s tools.
Install electrical equipment and repair or replace wiring and fixtures.
Fabricate warehouse equipment as needed using steel, wood, or other appropriate materials using a variety of tools including welding equipment.
Act as liaison with Penske for truck repairs and maintenance. Keep management aware of availability status of all trucks.
Monitor and oversee third part maintenance and repair vendors.
Follow all safety rules and ensure that third party vendors follow all safety rules. Report any safety rule violations to management immediately
Prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Report to work daily and adhere to Southern’s time and attendance policy
Perform other work related duties and special projects as assigned
General knowledge of building and machinery maintenance.
Ability to use the internet and Microsoft Office suite.
Have a CDL license or be able to obtain a CDL License
1 year previous building maintenance experience
