Additional Salary Information: This position is restricted to a maximum of 90 workdays (regardless of hours) in a 12 month period. In addition to salary, you will be provided worker's compensation coverage. You will not be eligible for insurance or leave benefits. Hourly wage will be D.O.E.

This is a seasonal position ranging in duration from May 1 to late August. Workdays may include Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays and will average 40 hours per week.

Routine cleaning and maintenance of park grounds and facilities including restroom cleaning, litter pick up, emptying garbage cans, mowing and watering lawns, weed control, landscaping and painting. Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on park tools and grounds care equipment. Position is also responsible for light park development projects, public relations and providing visitor information and assisting park staff with visitor center staffing, fee collection and other duties as assigned.
Must have knowledge of tools and equipment for maintenance of park grounds and facilities. Must have knowledge of safety practices. Ability to perform routine manual labor, to understand and follow oral and written instruction, to work without direct supervision and to perform manual labor for extended periods of time under all types of circumstances.Ability to work with and supervise park volunteers and respond accurately and courteously to visitor requests for information. Must have valid Montana drivers license.Two years of grounds & facility labor experience desired. Should have knowledge of general maintenance, cleaning, janitorial, and landscaping or a related field. Experience in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment, mowers, weed eaters, electric tools, and hand tools necessary.Must be physically able to perform routine maintenance activities including lifting supplies up to 50 pounds, garbage pickup, operating equipment for long hours, shoveling, painting, and all general repairs.
The knowledge, skills & abilities necessary to perform this job are typically acquired through a high school diploma, vo-tech training and/or 2 years of experience.Other combinations of education & experience, which could provide such knowledge, skills & abilities, will be evaluated on an individual basis.
