The Major Account Manager will leverage their experience in Cisco, EMC, NetApp, Hitachi, Citrix, and VMware technologies.
The candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of accomplishment in building business by both hunting and farming prospects, closing hardware and services sales every month, and maintaining relationships with customers for generating add-on sales. Job Duties and/or Requirements:
Five to ten years of progressive experience selling storage solutions, data, and systems design
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending vendor, industry and other educational workshops as well as reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies
Current book of business contacts that can generate deliveries in their first year
Must be able to generate and interpret price quotes and statements of work to satisfy customer requirements while maximizing ShoreGroup profitability/salesmen's commissions
Strong written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical personnel
Strong organizational skills
Should be proficient with Microsoft Excel for price quotes and statements of work to minimize pricing errors Knowledge and/or Skill Requirements:
Must be able to work with both customers and prospects to understand their business strategies and then propose the best solution with the ability to differentiate our solution against alternative products
Establish and cultivate professional relationships within both existing and prospective accounts
Demonstrate ability to track and report on prospects on a monthly basis
Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors
Foster relationships with IP telephony and networking consultants and vendors to obtain qualified prospects to close sales
Build a new book of business through cold calling, prospecting, and networking in an assigned vertical or territory
Eight or more years of experience in selling Security, Storage, Backup Recovery Services (BRS), Virtualization, and Server solutions to enterprise customers Education and Experience:
Bachelor degree required
