Nemours is seeking a Major Gifts Associate to join our Nemours Children's Hospital team in Orlando, Florida.

As a member of the Fund Development team, this position reports to the Director of Fund Development and is primarily responsible for major gift efforts for Nemours Children’s Hospital (NCH) in Orlando, FL. The Major Gift Associate must be able to identify, engage, cultivate and solicit gifts for NCH. The Major Gift Associate will focus on five and six figure major gifts. This position supports third party events, donor recognition, corporate relations, special events and annual gifts for NCH.

Primary duties include:
Must have the ability and desire to live the 10 Principles of Personal Leadership.

Major gift fundraiser with a track record of raising greater than $1,000,000 in a twelve month period. Capable of identifying and cultivating major gift prospects. Experience in capital campaigns.

A self-starter with the initiative to manage up to 120 major gift prospects and donors, and coordinate with other Fund members across the Enterprise to ensure total coverage of the donor/prospect base.

In-depth knowledge of the Central Florida region, corporate and civic community.

Maintain an active computerized donor and prospect database in Raisers Edge.

Responsible for generating ten times annual salary with benefits for the Fund.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree required; CFRE preferred.

Seven to ten years professional fundraising experience in development required.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills – clarity and crispness in writing and speaking and a compulsion for detail that makes for perfection in both oral and written communication given in a clear and courteous manner to all patients, visitors, co-workers, medical staff and volunteers.

Analytical skills to assess and evaluate on-going progress of a Development program.

Superior interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with volunteers, administration, staff and donors. *

Ability to engage donors and prospective donors in the Nemours mission. Knowledge of local community and donors/funders preferred. *

Self-motivation with enormous energy and a capacity for hard work with an intensely goal-oriented environment.
