Reports To: Chief Development Officer
Status: Full-time; Salary; Exempt
Leads and manages all aspects of major gifts programs (Partners for Life, One Hundred Women and special campaigns) including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective major donors to reach annual budget goals.
Major Gifts Fundraising
Develops and implements major donor prospecting systems;
Works closely with the Chief Development Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Board Members to develop appropriate cultivation, solicitation, renewal and upgrade strategies for prospective and current major donors;
Manages on-going stewardship programs for Partners for Life and One Hundred Women;
Evaluates and fine tunes the on-going stewardship strategies and practices in partnership with the chairs of the major gifts programs and the Chief Development Officer;
Responsible for cultivating and soliciting their own portfolio of prospects as well as supporting the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Development Officer in managing their major donor portfolios;
Helps identify potentially strong prospects for planned giving;
Works closely with the events team to plan and execute high quality events to identify, cultivate, steward and build community among major gift prospects and donors, particularly members of PFL/OHW.
Develops strategy to ensure major donors feel appreciated and recognized at all organization events including the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, the Desert AIDS Walk and several others.
Communications, Outreach and Marketing
Assists in development of content to market and promote the major donor programs and their associated events with the communications department;
TRAINING, EXPERIENCE, ABILITIES
Requires a bachelors Degree or equivalent in business, marketing, communications, psychology, events or a related field.
Requires a minimum of a five year track record of proven results in major gifts fundraising.
Experience in a development, philanthropy and/or fundraising required.
Excellent writing skills.
Requires flexible work schedule in order to coordinate and attend some evening and weekend events.
Knowledge of PC functions, Microsoft Office Applications. Experience with Donor Perfect preferred.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and perform under pressure. Must have strong organizational skills and be able to work with little supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Interact well in a variety of settings and with varying populations.
Utilize computer technology to facilitate tasks. Must demonstrate problem-solving, decision-making ability to correct unforeseen issues on the spot during events and be flexible in a changing environment.
Must be comfortable working with donors, community leaders and the public.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, friendly and energetic environment. Excellent customer service skills a necessity.
