Overall Job Purpose:
This position will be responsible for helping to define the strategy for management information and set the direction from an operational perspective for the MI team. The MI lead position will work with each area within the Finance Division to help institute and maintain processes that makes the appropriate data available to ensure management information delivers the greatest benefit to the Finance community. The MI team will be responsible for data analysis, research and the creation of requested reporting.

Key Accountabilities:
MI Team Management (30%)

Work with divisions within the department and Mi leadership team to identify and prioritize MI projects

Setting the operational goals and direction for the MI team through alignment with overarching MI strategy goals.

Create and provide relevant artefact's to manage MI projects to completion and provide communications to leaderships.

Provide coaching and institutional knowledge to MI analysts to ensure best practices are identified and implemented

MI Process Improvement (

Work closely with Finance & Technology group to assist with successful implementation of new management information projects, to include testing and data verification.

Modify current work process to optimize capabilities and improve efficiency to support financial analysis.

Provides and maintains all database documentation including business requirements, work flows, standard procedures, and user guides.

Management Information Generation (20%)

Be a primary financial & analytic data resource for the Finance Division, drawing appropriately from various BCUS data warehouses in a well thought-out and efficient manner.

Liaise with Finance divisions including Treasury, Accounting, and Forecasting to ensure that data needs to support business processes are delivered.

Assist in the creation of MI to service all Finance department adhoc requests.

Work to integrate reporting from various systems to develop unified, comprehensive views of the business.

Ad-hoc development / support (10%)

Qualifications

Functional

Ability to data mine large volumes of data and present in a format understood by end users.

Experience translating business requirements from non-technical resources into meaningful data requirements

Candidate needs to possess superior analytical and communication skills with ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization; customer service skills; organizational skills are a must.

Experience with finding process improvements to streamline workflows

Ability to handle variety of responsibilities and drive success with limited resources in a matrix organization.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Highly motivated, energetic, thorough, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.

3+ years of experience with analytics in Bank Cards or related financial service industry combined, with an understanding of a credit card P&L a big plus..

Technical

Expert proficiency in SAS and Excel

is a requirement

Highly proficient in visualisation, scoping and design of a diverse range of data needs.

Strong knowledge of SQL (familiarity with Oracle and Hummingbird Utilities advantageous)

Extremely highly proficient with VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) particularly across the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.

Proficiency in Essbase a big plus.
