Level: Manager

The Capital One Central Accounting team supports groups throughout the Company to ensure timely and accurate financial statements. We’re looking for a Manager to join the team and play a key role in the success of the group.

This team member’s primary responsibilities are oversight of the Equity Accounting and all related SEC Reporting activities. This includes accounting for share based payments under SFAS 123R and financial statement and disclosure preparation of equity related items in SEC filings. This team member will also be responsible for other functions handled by the team. They will interact with associates at all levels and work closely with multiple internal groups including Human Resources, Finance, other Accounting teams, the external auditors, transfer agent, and equity compensation administrators.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop, train, and manage a direct report
  • Review of equity related statements and disclosures for SEC filings
  • SFAS 123R research on complex share-based compensation issues
  • Subject matter expert for accounting related to all equity issuances and repurchases
  • Fair value analysis of stock options and other share based payment grants
  • Review of calculation of Earnings per Share
  • Review of monthly equity accounting transactions, including oversight of off-shore resources
  • Facilitation of Financial Statement Analysis completed throughout the Accounting department
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • 2 years of experience in supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting
  • CPA
  • Consolidation accounting experience
  • Hyperion and PeopleSoft experience
  • Prior public company accounting experience
  • Prior public accounting experience
  • 5 years of accounting experience
  • 2 years of experience in supervision
