Aggregated
Metadata Management & Operations (AMMO) has the broad responsibility to
work with key stakeholders throughout SPE to address SPE’s emergent metadata
issues. AMMO is the business owner of GPMS, SPE’s centralized title master and
intellectual property management system. AMMO is responsible for ensuring
availability of all required titles (and associated metadata) and developing
metadata models and system enhancements to meet the varied requirements of all
downstream users.

The
MANAGER will be responsible for leading of team of researchers in procuring
Film and TV metadata from a variety of resources. The team of researchers may
be comprised of on-shore and off-shore resources. The MANAGER is a person
excited about being at the forefront of an emerging specialty in the
entertainment landscape; a person that understands consumer behavior (data
driven) and evolving trends with respect to content consumption and emerging
platforms. This role will have the ability to be nimble, recognizing when to
pivot strategy in an always evolving digital landscape, to take advantage of
industry trends.

Oversee and manage on-shore and off-shore
team(s) of researchers. Identify and prioritize initiatives based on a
comprehensive understanding of the studio lifecycle, the business drivers,
business growth strategies, etc.

Collaborate with AMMO team to develop
new research projects.

Exercise discretionary decision making
and ideate/execute responses to new metadata and business use cases.

Identify and implement efficiencies
for metadata capturing activities/best practices.

Support executive management on a
variety of strategic initiatives, presentations, brainstorming sessions, ad hoc
management requirements, etc.

Actively solicit feedback from a
variety of stakeholders, encourage suggestions for management and personal
improvement, and contribute appropriate ideas for improvement in other groups
as well

Cultivate and master a comprehensive
understanding of the studio’s lifecycle, its business stakeholders, the
business drivers, strategic growth plans, etc. Understand AMMO’s activities and
priorities in relation to the studio’s core business activities.

Participate in brainstorming sessions
around proposed metadata structures and business rules.

Lead internal data management or
operations projects focused on the procurement and integration of title-level
metadata into GPMS.

Core
Responsibilities

(50%)

Manage on-shore and off-shore

metadata procurement operations, including:
Identify
strategic opportunities to source metadata required to support SPE’s
business

Develop
research projects, pull required data from corporate reporting tools, and
prepare tracking forms

Respond
to organizational and metadata-related escalations

QC
researched data submitted by offshore team

Prepare
scorecards that measure productivity, error rates, and other key
performance indicators

Develop
training materials and lead training sessions to educate team on new
procedures required to support various initiatives

Leverage
data analytics to identify and implement efficiencies

Leverage
corporate reporting tools to analyze data and identify trends and
opportunities

(50%)

Participate in management discussions, contribute

to management of other AMMO teams, etc., including:
Identify
and prioritize opportunities based on SPE business requirements; engage
in continual stakeholder discussions to validate AMMO activities

Clearly
communicate operational activities within the larger business context for
team members; provide forums in which team members can ask questions to
ensure all parties understand the common goal

Design
and implement process changes based on BI&A results

Motivate
and develop team members; understand individuals’ strengths, weaknesses,
and motivators to optimize resource allocation and nurture team member
satisfaction

Participate
in brainstorming sessions

Identify
& escalate issues, as needed, to management for review

Qualifications

Required Skills



3+ years
experience managing individuals; proven ability to effectively lead teams



Superior
ability to generate original correspondence and performance scorecards



Superior
ability to utilize corporate reporting, Business Intelligence and Analytics
tools



Expert-level
Excel skills including proficiency with SQL, VBA, and advanced Excel
functionality



Ideal
candidate has experience entering, parsing, QC-ing, and analyzing data



Ideal
candidate understands the studio content lifecycle and is familiar with supply
chain management



Self-starter
willing to work autonomously to research technology solutions, and then present
and inform applicable teammates with the findings



Dedication
to the solicitation of 360 feedback and implementation of management and
personal changes in response to feedback



Ideal
candidate must be able to think strategically and has desire to affect change



Ideal
candidate must be adept at interacting with and supporting multiple diverse

Interest
in teaching and learning new concepts

Preferred Skills



Previous
experience with master data management (MDM) solutions, data dictionaries, MDM
business process creation, etc.



Experience
in interacting with international clients or team members



Familiarity
with SPE inventory, knowledge of technical media terminology preferred



Knowledge
and understanding of the pioneering world of new media, digital workflows, and
related technologies is desired.



Bachelor's
degree preferred
