Universal Studios Digital Services has an opening for a Manager, Night Shift Operations located in Universal City, CA.
The Manager, Night Shift Operations is responsible for managing the night shift operations in the Duplication, Editorial, Color Correction, Quality Control, Encoding, and Shipping areas. This role reports to the Director, Operations and is responsible for managing all UDS night shift employees.
Responsibilities include:
• Oversee all aspects of the Post Production facility areas including; duplication, editorial, color correction, QC, Encoding and shipping areas
• Independently manage all night shift employees dealing directly with our customers and/or provide support as necessary
• Provide leadership to develop employees in each discipline
• Communicate regularly and consistently with staff to ensure clear and consistent communication
• Encourage staff to seek opportunities for improvement in all areas
• Solicit and deliver feedback from the staff
• Ensure accountability for all policies and standard operating procedures
• Build and leverage best practices across the team and larger organization
• Responsible for resolution of all internal and external customer issues occurring on the night shift or in conjunction with day operations and swing operation mangers
• Provide best in class customer service
• Provide oversight for training and use of IT application, ScheduAll, device monitor, and QC programs
• Develop plan for cross training across the operation, execute on plan and ensure all employees are accountable for completing training initiatives
• Conduct regular opportunity/gap analysis and make recommendations to leadership
• Identify, develop, and execute process improvement ideas, initiatives and projects
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with manager and leadership team on status of projects through to completion
• Provide regular and consistent status reports to customers and respective business unit
• Responsible for tracking, maintaining, and reporting scorecards with departmental metrics to measure operational effectiveness
• Must have prior experience managing employees
• Must have a full understanding of Post Production process
• Minimum 6 years post production experience
• Minimum 2 years customer service driven experience
• Minimum 2 years project management experience

• Must be willing to work at UDS at Universal Studios, Universal City location
• Must be willing to take drug test and submit to a background investigation
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be willing to take calls regarding Operations questions after regular business hours
