Manager of Analytics, Brand Insights and Research

Based in Needham, MA

The Manager of Marketing Analytics will be responsible for leading various aspects of the brand insights and research function. This job contributes to Panera's success by providing analytic support to enhance short and long term business decisions.

The ideal candidate is someone who possesses a strong curiosity and passion to leverage analytics to drive to change at Panera with a particular focus on marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Enable business growth by applying sophisticated analytical techniques to market data in support of Panera's strategic initiatives

Manage complex analytic, statistical and methodological issues to include:

o Business tracking and evaluation

o Situation assessments

o Marketing mix modeling

o Pricing Analytics

o Market Structure

o Segmentation

Provide analytical support for our loyalty program.

o Conduct advanced analytics to improve our acquisition, retention, cross-selling, and communication development.

o Further develop local market reporting and analysis.

Conduct segmentation to derive actionable rules for trigger based marketing campaigns.

Lead data mining, data cleansing and data extraction efforts that directly impact analytics.

Support requests by querying our databases and delivering a summary of your findings.

Become an expert on Panera's business processes and data structures.

Serves as a subject matter expert in marketing analytics.



Minimum of 5 years of Advanced Analytics experience for Retail or CPG companies with both custom and syndicated research

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or other quantitative field

Food service industry experience a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience working with large datasets, and strong interest in data analysis

Proficiency in at least one programming language or data extraction language (SQL) or higher level language (such as R, SAS).

Strong willingness and aptitude for learning new concepts and analytical approaches

Skills in data analysis, including statistical and competitive evaluation and synthesis

Working knowledge of syndicated store and/or panel data (such as from IRI, NPD or Nielsen)

Knowledge of appropriate statistical techniques and ability to explain results easily to end users
