Role Summary:
Universal Pictures seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Sr. Analyst, Business Development & Strategic Planning. This position will manage strategic planning and business development activities across Universal Pictures. Specific projects will include research, analysis, modeling, and recommendations related to emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and internal business performance improvement. The position offers unique exposure to a wide variety of businesses within the media and entertainment industry.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with senior management to formulate the vision and strategy for Universal Pictures at both a business unit and corporate level
  • Identify and evaluate business development opportunities, including preparation of business plans
  • Preparing financial models related to film acquisition, film financing, production and distribution
  • Formulate presentations for executive management on current Universal Pictures’ initiatives
  • Work closely with senior management to drive growth initiatives such as international expansion and the maximization of distribution channels
  • Prepare strategic market analyses to identify potential areas of future growth

    Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 2 years of experience in strategic planning, management consulting, business development or investment banking, ideally in the entertainment industry.
  • Proven project and managerial leadership skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including significant financial modeling experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management, ranging from senior corporate executives to business unit managers and third parties.
  • A solid understanding of the film and/or media markets/ business models
