Position Accountabilities
· Assures development, implementation and maintenance of onboarding and ongoing training programs for the Buying Representatives
· Assures life cycle of purchase order by monitoring and expediting the order to ensure cost effectiveness and speed to market
· Assures timely communication and effective resolution of all purchase order issues
· Assures effective coordination of all activities to meet promotional deadlines

Position Essential Functions
  • Provides training and development for all systems and processes for the Buying Representative team
  • Responsible for the maintenance and tracking of purchase orders
  • Resolves issues with purchase orders such as routing, labeling, first cost, EDI transmission issues and UPC set-up by partnering with merchandising team, DC staff, and vendors
  • Develops and maintains the Buying Representative training manual; evaluates and recommends changes and improvements
  • Discusses ongoing training needs with Buyers, Assortment Planning Managers, and Buying Representatives
  • Develops and maintains new efficiencies and processes to improve Buying Representative group performance
  • Analyzes data to determine appropriate workload for Buying Reps (i.e. code count, vendor count, styles, etc.)
  • Serves as the liaison for the Buying Representatives to Marketing, Retail Operations and DotCom
  • Participates in Assortment Review and Tab meetings to understand future sample needs and deadlines
  • Follows up on delivery, including EDI orders to proactively monitor and resolve problems affecting better profit and timeliness of sell thru
  • Approves/declines orders and meeting deadlines (independently or in conjunction with Buyer)
  • Submits the Return To Vendors (communication with vendor and Allocation department, does fact finding, resolves issues by partnering with Retail Ops)
  • Resolves delivery issues by partnering with vendor and/or DC
  • Responsible for validating item cost and retail pricing
  • Partners with Planners and Buyers to resolve order issues and other vendor inquiries
  • Analyzes merchandising reports on a weekly basis and changes purchase orders (shipping dates, prices, etc) based on business needs
  • Manages samples for each gender and sample room within area of responsibility
  • Works with vendors to ensure on-time delivery to the DCs of TAB shoes orders
  • Selects and provides samples to Marketing/Internet/New Stores/Allocation
  • Assist on special projects such as TABS, pricing, vendor changes, budgets, etc.

Position Specifications

Educational Preference:

Bachelors Degree

Job Experience:
  • Previous merchandising and/or supervisor experience
  • Retail experience
Computer Experience:
· Microsoft Office, AS400
