Client Strategy
This is a unique hybrid leadership role that entails a unique combination of responsibilities ranging in industry analysis, product marketing, strategy, ad operations, analytics, and innovation management.

Client Strategy is an interdisciplinary role that requires broad media, and marketing experience and a unique in-depth perspective of how the digital advertising ecosystem will evolve over the next 3-5 years. This role will provide creative solutions that not only enable Rocket Fuel advertisers to succeed through cutting-edge digital products, but will also help the company create sound infrastructure through a period of explosive growth by building sales, marketing, and operational best practices and processes to bolster the robustness of Rocket Fuel’s cross-platform business divisions.

Client Strategy will work closely with the Director of Emerging Media Strategy to grow Rocket Fuel’s strategic solutions and product lines in mobile, social, video, data integration, and offline sales attribution. This position will be an industry expert and evangelist in championing Rocket Fuel’s end-to-end suite of emerging products.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Play a key strategic role to support sales in closing new business for new and existing clients by leveraging Rocket Fuel’s core technologies, identifying core needs, and creating new market opportunities.

Serve as a creative thought leader and conduit between sales, product marketing, and account management and ad operations.

Provide key insights into Rocket Fuel’s existing and forthcoming product lines in social, mobile, video, and data integration. This will require producing internal and external communications / documents that engage clients and align product marketing, marketing solutions, and account management with sales.

Identify inventory “needs” in the marketplace and drive requirements back into product development for business for acquisition.

Program Manage successful client deployments and ensure ongoing high client satisfaction, renewal, and deep penetration of customer organizations for incremental business that result in overall partnership opportunities with major brands and agencies.

Analyze campaign performance statistics and recommend optimized media solutions.

Create persuasive sales presentations using market trends, case studies, and Rocket Fuel solutions.

Proven experience in interactive ad sales, cross-platform media, and ad operations.

Demonstrated expertise/experience working on social platforms.

Aptitude for media and contextual relevance.

High degree of creativity, self-motivation, and drive.

Professional oral and written communication skills.

Experience Requirements

This role requires a digital advertising, media, marketing, and technology “polymath” with an interdisciplinary mindset and broad experience in sales, advertising, and media

Broad understanding of how “context matters” in campaign management across multiple channels and platforms

Deep understanding of how each media channel serves in an overall campaign and brand matrix

Deep domain knowledge in how big data can be leveraged to maximize opportunities to communicate advertiser messages

Astute ability to client insights, assess new market opportunities, and translate them into business requirements

Creativity in leveraging product “functions” into revenue-generating solutions and business “frameworks” for emerging product lines

Strong experience in social, mobile, and/or cross-platform video solutions to agencies and advertisers.

Deep domain knowledge in advertising operations, RFP processes, client management, and campaign optimization

5+ year’s experience in advertising sales across multiple platforms

Experience in working with CMOs, Brand Managers, as well as agencies, media planners, and marketers

5+ year’s online business experience in sales & marketing, preferably in online, digital, interactive, and businesses.

Direct agency experience, either as customer, partner or employee.

BS or BA required & advanced degree desirable.
