Responsible for building and maintaining positive image with community leaders, media outlets, the general public and employees.
1-People leader with direct reports responsible for internal and external communications.
2-Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans for department including priorities, objectives, and timelines to meet performance goals.
3-Manages alignment and consistency in people practices, management activities, and customer service delivery in an effort to achieve goals.
4-May develop policies and procedures for department to standardize practices.
5-Analyzes market trends; coordinates and communicates with others to determine appropriate responses.
6-Establishes and leverages strong partnerships with key departments and internal/external customers.
7-May participate in hiring decisions, employee development, training and managing performance. Motivates and coaches others to achieve department and company goals.
8-May be responsible for budgeting.
9-Will manage multiple locations within the region
Public Relations/Media Relations focus:
11-May serve as principal spokesperson for Cox to local media, community and government officials.
12-Writes speeches, press releases and position papers on issues, and develops messaging statements.
13-Manages company response crises to minimize damage to company reputation.
14-Creates Public Relations programs that positively position Cox's residential and commercial services to current and potential customers and align closely with marketing campaigns, using communications tools and practices, reinforce the competitive advantages and overall value of Cox's products.
15-Develops strategies to fully utilize social media and traditional media to monitor whats being said about Cox and manage appropriate responses.
16-Works with and manages relationships with external Public Relations Agencies.
Employee Communications Focus:
19-Manages wide variety communications tools, including printed publications, intranet communications, employee meetings and events, videos, announcements, etc., that support open communication throughout the organization.
20-Creates tools and training to help supervisors and other managers be effective communicators and deliver appropriate messages.
21-Evaluates the state of internal communications and overall understanding of company strategies and direction, and makes strategic recommendations for improvement.
22-Creates content for myAxis, myHR and various social media vehicles for the employee audience.
23-Helps maintain high employee morale and retention, while also enhancing employees competitive readiness and overall productivity.
1. 7+ years of experience required in related field (i.e. Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, etc.); 5+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree.

1. BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly preferred (i.e. Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, etc.)
