Broad function and scope of the position:
Strategically manages and implements the Evening of Honors Gala and Women on the Move eve nt. Engages and organizes corporate sponsors, medical partners and volunteers to create awareness. Assists in establishing and implementing income goals, expense budgets, timelines and volunteer recruitment. Responsible f or ensuring the financial success of the Evening of Honors Gala and Women on the Move.
Principal continuing responsibilities of the position:
Assists in developing income and expense budgets that provide for increased net income on an annual basis. Prepares an annual strategic plan and timeline.
Ensures that the financial goals for the medical and volunteer honorees are met.
Recruits and staffs a volunteer committee for the Evening of Honors Gala. Identifies, motivates a nd retains influential volunteers as well as medical and corporate partners to assist in soliciting auction items, selling advertisements and tables.
Communicates regularly with all appropriate volunteer committees, and medical and corporate partners. Monitors and reports on income and expenses and makes accurate year-end projections.
Ensures that all administrative responsibilities are handled accurately and timely. This includes, but is not limited to scheduling, ordering materials and supplies and record keeping. Oversees and manages preparatory and day of event assignments.
Works to expand key volunteer involvement to other markets and/or other Foundation programs/events as appropriate. Assists with other events and programs as needed. Performs other duties as required.
Reports to the Chapter Executive Director
Functions as a member of the development staff team responsible for all local fund raising. Interacts with the development staff and program staff and volunteers.
Minimum of three years of successful fund raising, marketing and/or non-profit management experience.
Proven track record of sponsor and volunteer recruitment.
This position requires an individual with strong fund raising skills. Experience in fund raising and special events is required as well as recruiting and working with volunteers.
Strong communication, presentation, organizational and administrative skills.
Ability to work as part of a team as well as interface with all levels of staff, volunteers and the general public.
Computer proficient in : Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, with an understanding of the Windows operating environment. Knowledge of Blackbaud Sphere and Team Approach helpful.
A valid driver's license and access to an insured automobile.
