The Manager, Desktop Architecture and Engineering position is responsible for the management, operation and vendor relations of the PC/Laptop and WYSE infrastructure. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining device standards for the enterprise, budget management, and hardware lifecycle review. Under minimal supervision, the manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining PC infrastructure images, standards, guidelines, and vendor relationships associated with the Desktop infrastructure including strategy and design decisions with suppliers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
R ESPONSIBILITIES :
Hardware standardization and management of Printers, PCs, laptops, WYSE, and other equipment
Create/update standard PC images for the enterprise.
Manage a hardware lifecycle management program
Participates in technology evaluation and selection processes, ensuring compatibility between client requirements and technical performance. Documents analysis and recommendations.
Assists with project management of Desktop projects. Creates and maintains documentation related to those projects.
Effectively communicates with clients, peers, and management by blending appropriate levels of detail to ensure issues are thoroughly understood by his/her audience. Develops and maintains relationships with clients, peer, vendors, and management.
Manage vendor relationships
Collaborate with stake holders such as IT Site Managers, Shared Computer Services, and Operations staff.

Job Specifications - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(A) EDUCATION LEVEL/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in discipline appropriate to assignment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Related certifications will be helpful. The candidate must have a 8+ years of experience supporting an enterprise environment.
(B) KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Prior knowledge or experience with Microsoft SCCM desired
General knowledge of Desktop infrastructures and capabilities
Experience managing multiple vendors
Experience documenting Desktop services
