The Manager, Development (DM) will report to the Director, Development, and his/her primary responsibilities will include: developing and utilizing systems to track and communicate progress towards the Tulsa-based development goal; conducting research to create prospect pipelines; determining the motivations and barriers of potential and current donors; working with the Director, Development to create compelling outreach plans; and creating and executing stewardship plans that lead to renewed and upgraded giving. Teach For America in Oklahoma intends to double in size in the next 3-5 years, with over 600 corps members and an annual budget of nearly $14 million. The Manager, Development will provide critical support for the regional growth, development, and partnerships team to enable Oklahoma to reach this ambitious goal.

        Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conduct Prospect Research and Develop Outreach Plans Conduct research to build the pipeline for new money, identify potential upgrades within existing donor base, and gather information to determine the best approach to engage prospects and donors Determine potential and current donors' motivations for and barriers to giving and/or increasing support Clearly communicate research results and plans to others Synthesize information to create compelling outreach plans for individual prospects/donors and groups of prospects/donors Manage the Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship of Donors, Prospects, and Partners Design engagement plans for prospects and donors grounded in an analysis of motivations/barriers to supporting our organization Prioritize the right actions for the ED, MD, and DD to take in order to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors and prospects and prepare/support them to execute Set vision for and manage the Tulsa area's Individual Giving campaign to meet stream goals Create and execute stewardship plans that lead to renewed and upgraded giving from current donors Prepare the Director, Development, Managing Director, GDP and Executive Director to understand and effectively address the motivations and barriers of potential and current donors Identify strategic ways to improve and expand our partnerships within the community Produce high-quality and compelling written communication and interactions for donors, prospects, and community partners, including letters of intent, funding proposals, follow-up correspondence, update reports, newsletters, invitations, and emails Track and Communicate Progress to Goal Develop and utilize systems to track and communicate progress towards the OKC team's goals Quickly identify when adjustments to course are necessary and aid the Director, Development in determining strategies for correction Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with proven time management skills Operates with purpose, urgency, and accuracy Ability to thrive in results-oriented, fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment Detail orientation with a high bar for quality Strong research and analytical skills Critical thinker who displays good judgment in prioritizing problems to resolve and opportunities to pursue Ability to manage self and others towards results Excellent project management skills Ability to work flexibly and balance both long-term and short-term projects Ability to work with a variety of constituents and to identify and align strategies to the interests and priorities of key stakeholders Strong strategic-thinking, problem-solving, and operational skills Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required Education and Professional Experience Bachelor's degree required 2-5 years work experience Experience building district/school relationships and/or managing back-office operations preferred Teach For America experience preferred but not required Application Requirements and Process Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
