The Financial Reporting Manager manages all aspects of financial reporting related to the Department of Aviation. Integral part of developing, maintaining and periodically producing internal financial reports for various groups; assist with quarterly and annual external financial reporting; ensure accurate and timely reporting for FAA, ACI, and other regulatory bodies. Liaison between Department of Finance and DOA on all Hyperion related activity ensuring DOA has access to all necessary reports. Drives all ad-hoc reporting via Hyperion, Oracle, Discover, and all other financial reporting tools at our disposal. Assists Revenue, Capital Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis in month-end processes and reconciliation support when necessary.

This position requires some level of strategic and operations management and reports to a top Department executive or a Department deputy. Position manages a primary function of the department and recommends operating policy and procedure subject to department executive approval. This level is not expected to manage individuals, but is expected to effectively manage the various systems within our financial framework.
Supervision Received
Direction received will be more focused, but the position will allow creativity and initiative in the development and implementation of certain strategic objectives. This position would be considered“middle" management

Manages all aspects of financial reporting related to the Department of Aviation. Integral part of developing, maintaining and periodically producing internal financial reports for various groups; assist with quarterly and annual external financial reporting; ensure accurate and timely reporting for FAA, ACI, and other regulatory bodies. Liaison between Department of Finance and DOA on all Hyperion related activity ensuring DOA has access to all necessary reports. Drives all ad-hoc reporting via Hyperion, Oracle, Discover, and all other financial reporting tools at our disposal. Assists Revenue, Capital Finance and Financial Planning and Analysis in month-end processes and reconciliation support when necessary.

Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency.

Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis, and reporting of accounting data, and ensures integration of data produced into systems.

Participates in annual audits and special projects, including annual/quarterly reporting for FAA and ACI.

Works with external consultants and auditors to provide required information and ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Provides assistance to various financial groups with report-writing needs, reconciliation tools, management reporting needs; builds relationships across department and City organizations.

Leadership Provided
Potential for formal supervisory authority over group of managers to include discipline, performance management, scheduling, training, etc.

Typical Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of City structure and systems
Ability to work independently with proper direction
Excellent Microsoft Office, accounting software and database skills.
Excellent planning and organization skills
Ability to analyze data requiring an in-depth knowledge of selecting methods, techniques and
evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Minimum Qualifications – Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered
for substitution for the required degree on an exception basis).
8-10 years of accounting/finance/budget experience, with necessary systems/database skills evident in experience.
Licensures and Certifications
None required.
