Job Summary

Websense, Inc. is a publicly-traded multi-national corporation based in San Diego, CA. We are searching for a Manager, Financial Reporting to lead and plan the Company’s SEC regulatory reporting requirements.

The Manager, Financial Reporting will be responsible for all external reporting, including all SEC financial reporting requirements such as the Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K and S-8. The Manager will lead the technical research and reporting on pronouncements from the FASB, SEC and other governing organizations with responsibility for actively monitoring and providing guidance on developments regarding new accounting pronouncements and emerging accounting issues that may impact the Company. This individual will be responsible for a wide array of duties including oversight of consolidated financial results and operations, implementation of new systems and processes necessary to meet financial reporting requirements as well as participation and leadership in financial due diligence.

Essential Functions

Coordinate and prepare all internal and external financial reports and disclosures including:

Preparation of Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K SEC filings, annual report and proxy information.

Coordination with subsidiaries and domestic functional departments to assure timely and accurate financial statements and the correct reflection of GAAP in the financial statements and SEC disclosures.

Review of SEC filings with outside auditors.

Research and analysis of technical accounting and financial reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP.

Preparation of Board and executive committee documents and financial presentations for executive management.

Act as a consultant on new strategy initiatives to ensure understanding and execution of the proper accounting and reporting.

Analyze new accounting and reporting guidance issued by the FASB, SEC, EITF, IASB and other regulatory bodies to determine the implications on internal financial operations and external financial reporting and communicate these issues to key management.

Review all new hedging transactions for proper classification.

Supervise recording of intangible and debt monthly entries.

Review and provide feedback on existing accounting policies; Stay informed of all material business changes and developments in effort to correctly reflect these events in financial statements.

Analyze results of operations and communicate key business trends and results to senior management.

Maintain a system of collecting data (financials, statistics, performance indicators, etc) used in financial reporting disclosures. Implement new systems and processes as necessary to improve efficiencies and to meet financial reporting requirements.

Manage a team of one.

Education and Experience

Education: BA in Accounting or Finance, Masters degree desirable.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; Big 4 experience required.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

Software industry experience preferred.

International experience preferred.

Strong technical knowledge of current GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Exposure to and understanding of multi-currency accounting and consolidation accounting preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite required.

Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.

Excellent communication, planning and leadership skills.
