Manage SHRM Foundation projects and programs to include awarding HR research grants, tracking and disseminating completed research, overseeing two national scholarship programs and producing various high-quality, research-based publications.

This will be a key position in promoting the Foundation’s mission to advance HR knowledge, promote evidence-based practice, and fund cutting-edge, actionable, evidence-based research.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage two annual research grant reviews plus special calls for research
  • Develop and follow consistent grant review procedures
  • Recruit, train and recognize volunteers to assist with peer reviews
  • Finalize & track research agreements & IRB approval with researchers/universities
  • Manage contract research projects & literature reviews
  • Monitor ongoing research projects & collect periodic project updates
  • Produce status reports on grants and awards for Foundation Board
  • Serve as main point of contact for researchers anduniversities working on grants
  • Track and report grant financials and metrics
  • Maintain and update Foundation Research website
  • Produce annual Research Results brochure & periodic research update e-newsletters
  • Coordinate with other SHRM departments to publicize and use research findings
  • Identify new ideas for products/resources based on Foundation research
  • Represent SHRM Foundation at academic conferences & RAC meetings as needed
  • Participate in Foundation Research Evidence Committee meetings
  • Coordinate two national scholarship programs
  • Update awardapplications and marketing materials
  • Oversee scholarship selection process and notify applicants of results
  • Manage production of Foundation publications
  • Identify and recruit report authors
  • Develop project timelines; complete publications projects on time and on budget
  • Work with SHRM Art Department to design and produce printed reports
  • Work with development staff to identify potential sponsors for Foundation products
  • Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None
REQUIRED EDUCATION :
  • Bachelor’s degree; Masters or Ph.D. preferred
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE :
Minimum 3 years’ experience in program or project management. Experience working with volunteers and academics in virtual teams. Experience with and knowledge of academic research methodology and/or human resource management preferred. Experience administering awards programs a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Detail-oriented and conscientious; good timemanagement, and experience managing multiple projects and priorities at the same time. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with a variety of different stakeholders. Good judgment; superb customer service skills; and flexibility / ability to adapt to changing timelines, priorities etc. Ability to overcome obstacles and bring projects to successful completion.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
Some travel may be required, less than 10% of time.
