The Company's flagship product, the Eeva™ Test, delivers consistent, objective and quantitative information regarding embryo viability that clinicians and their infertility patients can use to make important treatment decisions. Eeva received CE mark in July 2012 and is currently available for use in the European Union. Eeva is not yet cleared in the US and is limited to investigational use only. Recently the Company and Merck Serono announced a strategic partnership to further advance the development and commercialization of the Eeva Test in the European Union, Canada, Australia and the US. Identify strategic Human Resources issues which will affect the company’s ability to meet its business goals, and develop appropriate plan for organizational and staff development.
Work proactively with Senior Management to ensure the Company is able to recruit, motivate, and retain needed technical, professional, and support staff.
Oversee and manage all Human Resources functions for the company including recruiting and employment, benefits, compensation, and employee relations. Ensure that proper files and documentation are maintained and that the company is in compliance with applicable laws.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Work with CEO and senior management to proactively develop a strong company culture in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the organization.
Manage the employment process for the company. This includes working with hiring managers to develop and implement appropriate recruiting and selection strategies, ensuring that compensation is within guidelines, and appropriate controls are in place in the hiring process.
Recruit talent to the Company to include direct sourcing, advertising, screening, qualifying, checking references and performing background checks, and presenting candidates to hiring manage.
Develop and maintain appropriate compensation guidelines for the company. Study market trends in compensation and perform job analyses using this market data.
Manage the employee benefits program for the company. This includes making sure all offerings are competitive and cost effective for the company and of value to employees.
Develop and implement full cycle performance review process for the Company to include objective setting, performance evaluation, and appropriate reward systems.
Recommend, develop and implement Human Resources policies.
Ensure that Human Resource files, documentation, and communications are current and comply with applicable laws.
Ensure that the company is in compliance with all EEO, employment, benefits, and wage-hour laws.
Provide training and coaching to managers on people hiring skills, management skills and strategies (as appropriate) such as setting clear performance expectations, providing constructive feedback, recognizing positive results, taking correction action (where necessary) and linking compensation to performance.
Handle employee relations issues for the company. This includes working with managers to identify performance issues and develop and implement appropriate measures to provide employees the opportunity to succeed and to take corrective action where necessary.
Keep current regarding competitive HR practices, including compensation, benefits, and related issues.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
BA in business, Human Resources, or related field required.
Prior management experience required.
5+ years of experience in the field of Human Resources.
Experience managing the planning, development, implementation and administration of one or more Human Resources programs in the function of employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, or training.
Experience in a smaller medical device or biotech company.
