PSI seeks applicants for the position of Manager, Internal Controls and Business Processes. This individual will be a member of the Financial Management reporting team responsible for the formalization of accounting policies and the design of business processes to ensure effectiveness of policies. This position will be responsible for continuous monitoring of policies to ensure effectiveness and revise as necessary to adapt to business environment changes. He/She will act as a technical expert when changes occur in the legal structure to analyze and assess any impact to the organization. This full time position will report to the Controller and is based in Washington, D.C.
Review and assessment of current internal control policies and procedures. Including the validation, testing and monitoring of such policies and procedures
Provide technical assistance in the clarification and interpretation of policies and procedures
Develop training materials and courses for policies and procedures
Work with the Budget and Analysis unit to assist with budget impacts due to new policy guidance
Assist Controller in localization oversight efforts
Assist in development of process improvements opportunities identified during periodic review of financial business processes
B.S. in Accounting, Finance and/or MBA preferred,
7+ years of progressively responsible auditing, financial management, and analysis;
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with departments within the CFO organization
Experience in managing accounting staff aboard within the iNGO industry preferred.
Knowledge and experience in the analysis, development/revision and implementation of internal controls
Experience using and managing automated financial systems and databases in support of accounting and budgeting/management activities
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge
Demonstrated proficiency with financial oversight and controls, report-writing tools and spreadsheet software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate will have an interactive nature; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong analytical and problem solving capabilities; attention to detail; and excellent managerial abilities.
Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to Lawson, Deltek or other large-scale enterprise resource planning systems. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus.
