Under the direction of the Administrative Director, Infection Control, the Manager, Laboratory Services supervises and directs the operations of clinical laboratory services, taking appropriate measures to ensure quality control and accreditation is maintained. Individual shall be qualified to supervise, and assume the professional, scientific, consultative, organizational, administrative, and educational responsibilities involved in directing the laboratory. As needed, the manager shall delegate technical responsibility or retain consultative services from a physician or doctoral scientist qualified for each discipline offered.
Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related field from an accredited College or University
ASCP or equivalent; Completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider Program required within 30 days of employment.
Training and Experience
Minimum 5 years clinical laboratory experience. Minimum of 2 years of management experience preferred. Knowledgeable in CAP, TJC, and CLIA laboratory standards. Proven technical, managerial, and administrative skills
Skills and Knowledge
Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership and supervisory skills,planning/organizational/project management skills. Ability to initiate and maintain professional relationships with diverse groups. Competent in pediatric phlebotomy and pediatric procedures.
