The Manager of Loading Dock Operations will be responsible for coordinating with food service, office and entertainment tenants the use of the Barclays Center subterranean loading dock. All vehicles entering and exiting the loading dock will be coordinated by this person. The ideal candidate must be organized, have proven experience in managing a busy loading dock operation in a multi use facility. A demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel is required in creating and maintaining a schedule of deliveries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities in the receipt of all deliveries to the tenants.
Manage a Loading Dock team during the day to day operations during event and non- event times.
Develop, maintain and strictly enforce a daily schedule of deliveries to efficient operation. Optimize the Barclays Center on-line delivery schedule system.
Coordinate the arrival and departure of all show related trucks as well as the organization of player parking when required.
Responsible for enforcing truck elevator and loading dock procedures.
Provide planning, direction and control of all available resources for ensuring timely, damage-free unloading of shipment.
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in loading and unloading of trucks and in moving and storing materials or products.
Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack and hand truck.
Responsible for trash and waste management, along with scheduling the removal of grease waste.
Plan, schedule, and execute preventative and repair maintenance work when required on the loading dock equipment.
Provide a clean, safe environment for all personnel and tenants.
Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
At least 3 years of Supervisory experience.
Ability to lift 75lbs, stand and move on your feet for long periods of time.
Must be able to work nights & post event shifts which include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Excellent team building and organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and be computer literature.
Knowledge of proper freight handling / loading techniques preferred.
Ability to Coordinate and supervise all activities on the loading dock and ensure the system is coordinated efficiently.
Exceptional people, communication skills, and customer service.
The ability to create, manage, coordinate and oversee an employee schedule as required.
Motivational and organizational skills.
Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Must be at least 18 years of age
Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more.
Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift.
Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.
Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid State issued Driver’s License.
Forklift Driver Certification.
DOT Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Certification.
Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
Must have the ability to stand, sit, crouch and bend throughout the course of daily activities.
Ability to work in various climates based on the environment.
Must have a legal right to work in the US.
Must have the ability to stand or sit in one location for a minimum of four hours at a time.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English in a working environment.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, employment check and a drug test prior to employment.
Ability to adapt and work effectively in various parts of the facility.
