The Opportunity

Manager, Market Research, Marketing, MC3

Principal Duties & Responsibilities


Designs and manages a variety of primary research projects to support Aflac’s customer experience and brand objectives; ensures all research efforts support the growth agenda via clear, actionable results and recommendations


Designs and executes projects from start to finish, including the development of research instruments, vendor management, and report preparation/presentation


Ensures projects meet client objectives and are delivered on time and within budget; effectively manages both internal resources and vendors to this end


Provides leadership and management to the Market Research team. Provides challenging tasks and assignments and constructs compelling development plans to increase the skill level of the team. Provides information about the Marketing strategies and goals and reviews and interprets performance against plans and standards. Ensures continuous knowledge transfer to less experienced team members; creates an atmosphere conducive to excellence and fun that keeps Aflac one of America’s best places to work


Works closely with internal clients to build relationships and function as an integral part of the teams in which our research will be used


Is committed to marketing research and continuously growing research knowledge; stays abreast of latest developments in the field and incorporates industry best practices to improve the productivity, cost-effectiveness, and decision-making ability of the research function and business units


Pays especially close attention to issues that affect research respondent cooperation and ensures customers and potential customers are treated with respect and honesty in all research efforts


Stays abreast of current trends and best practices

in insights research, functional

operations, and technology; directs, maintains control, and appraises performance of all operational functions for the departments; participates in key management activities and committees; maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility, advising division senior management accordingly


Performs other related duties as required


Education & Experience


Bachelor’s degree in market research, marketing, business administration,


or a related field and eight years of market research experience


Three years in a managerial capacity leading diverse work groups and strategic consulting or experience in managing projects in a complex business environment involving multiple business issues


Experience in designing research projects, including survey design, research methodology, statistical analysis, segmentation, etc.


Master’s degree (preferred)

Job Knowledge & Skills


Broad and deep knowledge of a variety of research techniques and methods to include both quantitative and qualitative experience


Broad knowledge of current best practices and challenges in both market research and insurance or other service industries


Clearly demonstrates superior questionnaire design and report writing skills


Clearly demonstrates the ability to succeed in a modern, fast-paced environment while managing multiple project simultaneously


Clearly demonstrates data analysis skills using SPSS or similar statistical programs


Strong project management skills and leadership potential
