MANAGER, MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
Manages the development, implementation, oversight, and tracking of marketing efforts for MedStar's service lines to effectively produce positive results in service volumes and patient satisfaction. Responsible for marketing and internal communications through development of external and internal communication campaigns and media relations. Offers leadership in all communications efforts through publications, collateral development, and media relations.
Education: Bachelor's degree; marketing coursework or knowledge; Master's degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years experience; 3 years healthcare marketing experience; direct customer service experience with patients and physicians.
LICENSE/CERT/REG: No special certification, registration or license required.
Skills: Excellent customer service skills. Basic sales skills. Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently. Proven ability to work with diverse groups and support staff. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic computer skills preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as coordinator for the service line and editor for all communications developed. Collaborates with service line directors on customer issues; ensure staff members are up to date on services to avoid dissemination of misinformation; works to eliminate obstacles to smooth, accurate customer service (i.e. trainer-on-call program, customer satisfaction issues).
Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.
Designs service line collateral including brochures and direct mail. Oversees entire production from concept to delivery.
Manages marketing and communication programs for service lines and physician initiatives including development of advertising, direct mail, special events and other promotional activities. Works closely with Marketing staff and advertising agency in the formulation/implementation of campaigns, including script writing and commercial production.
Manages special and educational events pertaining to service lines.
Manages the community-based marketing efforts for MSH Corporate/ Diversified. Identifies key strategic partners and opportunities to make MedStar Health the provider of choice in Central Maryland.
Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community
Performs other duties as assigned.
Serves as project manager for all marketing initiatives related to service lines.
