The Manager, Membership Development, Team Marketing & Business Operations will lead the WNBA and NBA Development League’s efforts to drive revenue by increasing season ticket holder retention and shifting to a membership approach, as well as assisting with NBA membership development efforts. Additionally, this individual will assist in driving best practices in NBA premium sales & service.

Major Responsibilities

Knowledge Management
• Develop and manage a process of identifying, developing and distributing all whitepapers, checklists and best practice documents for emerging and critical topics (e.g., business-to-business forums, renewal process, etc.) and track results of efforts
• Develop and manage a process of identifying relevant outside industry ideas to integrate into team best practices
• Identify and document trends in learning opportunities for teams for use while leading in-market training
• Visit WNBA and Development League arenas to evaluate service experiences

Sales & Service Development
• Provide strategy and guidance to WNBA and NBA D-League teams and Account Managers regarding retention and collect and catalogue their renewal campaigns and other efforts
• Develop relationships with executives in the service industry and secure their participation in team conference calls
• Develop a pipeline of candidates for service and premium staff vacancies
• Assist with premium sales and service efforts across all leagues
• Encourage and assist teams with shifting to a membership approach
• Partner with marketing team on best practices for new technology & digital strategies for members such as loaded tickets, paperless, auto-renewal, social media engagement, in-arena engagement, and tools that will provide them a 360° view of members
• Train teams on how to utilize their ticketing system and/or CRM to capture and report on season ticket holder data
• Proactively form and maintain strong working relationships with retention staff for WNBA and D-League teams
• Efficiently respond to questions and requests from teams and make referrals when necessary to the appropriate department for assistance
• Work on membership development, retention, service, and premium special projects as directed for the NBA, WNBA, and D-League.

Experience Needed

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3-5 years of team service & retention experience, supervisory experience a plus
