Essential Responsibilities :
Manage operational activities for NBC Universal photography department. Including but not limited to:
Handle all department timecards and invoices
Actively log all invoices and timecards in comprehensive Excel document, allowing instant budget analysis and up-to-date tracking per show and per gallery
Manage filing system which allows easy access to old invoices and timecards
Work as a liaison to the finance department for NBC, Style, Oxygen, E! and NBC Sports
Manage quarterly financial accruals
Follow-up with Photo Producers on outstanding invoices, timecards, etc.
Handle all the department bucket purchase orders with Samy’s, Pix, Melrose Mac, Arrowhead, and Staples
Create Wide, MV, and DMD edits within lightbox
Create and apply IPTC files (metadata) to images, renumber, and properly upload into lightbox
Resize images and create PDFs for press/publicity
Perform basic editing (cropping, color correction, light retouching) in Photoshop and Bridge
Add metadata and ID’s to select images that need to be published
Get images posted to MV/DMD
Work with IT to suggest and improve Lightbox usability
Actively pitch images to press outlets from unit coverage and corporate events
BACK UP PHOTO PRODUCTION
Manage photo coverage for series, small-scale galleries, and corporate assignments. Assign and book external and internal photographers for unit coverage and galleries.
Oversee freelance Photographers, hair/makeup – ensure onboarding and timecards completed
Set up all west coast executive headshots (hair/makeup and photographer)
Handle publicity requests – Create NUP, edit, add metadata, send images out, post to MV.
Handle photography content from live shows and events – run cards, renumber images, add metadata, upload, send to press
Participate in creative discussions with set designers, photographers, publicity and advertising departments. Discuss concepts and requirements.
Production forms and uploading
Creating edits in DPL
Reading scripts/one-lines to figure out key photographic moments (TBD)
Creating PDFs of selects and pitching to press/publicity
Bachelors degree Photography, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field.
Minimum 2 years experience in photography, photo editing and photo production.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Photoshop, Photo Mechanic and Adobe Bridge.
Must have experience working with digital photography and be familiar with photo asset management systems.
