Position Summary / Responsibilities

This position is to ensure publishing of superb proposals to our customers. This position is not an entry level position. To be considered applicants must have a track record of world-class expertise in conceiving and bringing to fruition the highest quality electronic and printed materials that effectively convey a winning bid proposition to our potential customers. A portfolio is required to be submitted with a resume; both the portfolio and resume must be tailored to this job description; this will be the first test before further consideration will be given. Potential customers include the United States Department of Defense, NASA, and other federal agencies, as well as customers in the United Kingdom, Middle East and Australia.

The person in this position must work collaboratively with Proposal Managers to plan and supervise the work of a team of specialists that include internal and external editors, writers, graphic artists, photographers, desktop publishers, word processors, reproduction specialists and clerical staff. This person also maintains a database of freelance talent, assesses and monitors the quality of their work, processes purchase orders and payments, and ensures compliance with sector global supply chain requirements.

In addition, this person:

Serves as the art director and publishing expert for sector proposals. Maintains style guide that ensures highest quality communications. Establishes and enforces publishing standards that ensure high quality products.

Plans, organizes, directs and controls the resources and work flow that assists proposal managers in developing and producing the proposal.

Establishes production budgets and controls production costs.

Plans the content and layout of each proposal in accordance with RFP requirements, creates compliance matrix and proposal outline, prepares page layouts and graphics standards tailored to each proposal.

Helps conceive visual materials that compliment written materials such as photographs, illustrations, charts, diagrams, artwork and graphics. Creates proposal cover art concepts.

Edits and proofreads materials to ensure the proposal is factually and grammatically correct, and communicates in a compelling and easy to evaluate manner to a wide range of customer source selection evaluators.

Must be familiar with trends and challenges facing government evaluators of competitive proposals, and demonstrate a track record of innovation in creating winning electronic and paper proposals that are easy to evaluate through professional, compliant and compelling art, prose, layout and overall impression.

Must possess direct experience in, or demonstrate knowledge of, all aspects of at least US government proposal requirements. Must ensure timely, high-quality results with zero risk for a missing any proposal delivery deadlines.


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college in a related field or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degrees in English, literature, journalism, graphic design or communications.

Secret or Top Secret clearance.
