The R&D Project Management Office Manager is a leadership position within ConAgra Foods, RQI’s Research and Development project management office. This office will be responsible for managing and executing the R&D program portfolio. This position requires extensive interaction with all research and technical disciplines within RQI, Supply Chain, and Operations, and from outside the company.

Position Responsibilities
Manage major projects:
  • Through a formally governed process to execute a set of key innovation programs aligned to the company’s strategic objectives.
  • A portfolio management process of project prioritization, selection, execution and termination/conclusion under the authority of the RQI leadership team.
  • Ensuring all project data is comprehensive, accurate and available for review and oversight for recurring schedules of project reviews.
  • Collaborating with the financial group to establish accurate forecasting of project spend and project value proposition.
  • Maintaining the documentation of all of the above activities.
  • Collaborating with functional group leaders and program managers to identify inter project dependencies and resource optimization strategies.

    Support:
  • Establishing and directing the RQI project management processes and systems
  • Driving project management best practices, standards, methods, tools, metrics, etc. across RQI.
  • Developing and mentoring of team members of the PM community.

    Position Qualifications
  • BS Degree with major studies in Engineering or Science required. MS preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years related project management experience involving multiple engineering and science disciplines.
  • Minimum of 5 years R&D program management experience
  • PMP certified.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervising project managers experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects cross-functionally and function in a team environment.
  • Capability of working independently and with no supervision, as well as working with others as a member of a team.
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent relationship and team building skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Experience presenting and communicating scientific data to many audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time. Must be able to travel independently as a ConAgra Foods, Inc. representative.

    Physical Requirements:
  • Walking or standing: 20%, Sitting: 80%.
  • Lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs.
