Applies experience in using a variety of research methodologies to produce high quality, leading edge quantitative insights for Plan executives and BCBSA business units. Leads and participates on project teams to provide direction on the use of sophisticated quantitative studies using both survey data and claims based data in order to advance target marketing, competitive positioning and business performance evaluation of the Blues. Uses extensive theoretical and data management experience to leverage a variety of statistical methods, to design research projects, and to develop analytic tools that meet the business needs of the Blue System. Delivers effective presentations and written communications related to current market, customer, and competitor trends. Builds and maintains effective business relationships in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment.

Required Basic Qualifications
•A minimum of five years experience as a research methodologist/statistician addressing marketing and business issues--preferable in health care
•An advanced degree (MA or higher) in the economics, the social sciences or statistics required
•Formal training in advanced quantitative techniques, including linear modeling, choice modeling, latent variable modeling, time series, and non-parametric estimation techniques
•Experience in working with large data sets and resolving data management and validation issues
•Demonstrated ability to generate appropriate hypotheses and design studies to effectively validate those hypotheses
•Experience in managing mid-sized and large research projects
•Proficiency in SAS programming required; familiarity with “R” or STATA a plus
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred Basic Qualifications
•Effective communication skills (written and oral) in dealing with all levels of staff and management
•Ability to acquire, organize and synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data to identify key findings
•Experience in managing and developing staff
•Strong project management skills
•Ability to lead client presentations and make presentations to internal staff
•Ability to teach fellow research staff how to conduct and program for complex quantitative analyses
