The Resource Development Manager is responsible for the identification and solicitation of individual, foundation, and government funding for National PTA. The Resource Development Manager will support the organization’s fundraising efforts by researching and seeking out new opportunities for foundation and government funding support; writing and submitting foundation and government grant proposals; overseeing relationships with new and existing foundation donors; ensuring compliance with stewardship and reporting requirements; and assisting in other Resource Development activities.
Reporting to the Resource Development Director, this individual will also manage all aspects of fundraising strategies related to an individual giving program that includes the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of annual and major gifts from board members, PTA members and leaders, friends and other supporters, including personal solicitations, proposals, online fundraising, and direct mail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Duties are illustrative and not inclusive and may vary with individual assignments.)
Responsible for the identification and solicitation of foundation and government grant opportunities. Includes writing and submitting proposals and ensuring compliance with stewardship and reporting requirements. May also include corporate grant prospecting and proposal writing as well.
Develop and implement an annual individual giving program within the organization, including annual strategy, direct mail, cultivation, and donor stewardship. Develop messaging, promotional materials, and stewardship plans for the program.
Create and administer programs and activities to solicit donations from board members, PTA members and leaders, parents, friends and other supporters including personal solicitations, proposals, online giving, and direct mail.
Develop and manage all aspects of a Planned Giving program for the organization.
Oversee the acknowledgment and recognition of all contributions, including acknowledgement letters, the annual report to donors and donor recognition events.
Conduct individual, foundation, government, and corporate prospect research; create prospect profiles and manage prospect-tracking system.
Manage and track prospects and donors utilizing fundraising management software. Maintain accurate records of correspondence, reporting and relationship features and capture in database.
Monitor and coordinate accounting activities related to fundraising efforts and prepare internal reports for management. Participate in budget planning process as needed.
Maintain highest level of confidentiality of donor and potential donor information.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
