Utility Solutions

Manager, Retail Merchandising and Promotions

This key role is responsible for providing promotional guidance for energy efficient product incentives, retail placement, and product selection, while driving process improvement and forecasting savings associated with our programs.

Role Description

Establish retail promotional strategy for efficient products in big box and large independent retailers across the country, primarily through the use of utility program incentives.

Lead retailer and manufacturer relationships to execute promotions and develop promotional strategy.

Develop and implement data acquisition strategy for market analysis.

Identify key insights on efficient product adoption and adjust promotions accordingly.

Forecast unit volume and savings impact of promotions.

Determine appropriate qualified product lists.

Identify KPIs and develop and maintain KPI dashboard; manage portion of revenue and profitability of programs.

Provide reports and communicate trends to management, program managers and clients as needed.

Manage and coordinate required internal communication and change management.

Provide key information on retail proposals.

Manage and improve RFP process with manufacturers.

Perform related work as required.

Role Competencies

Bachelor's degree and 8 years experience in retail marketing, consumer product marketing, managing progressive energy efficiency and demand side management programs or related field.

MBA is preferred.

Experience in retail marketing with big box, home improvement, electronics, appliance or other Energy Star product retailer preferred.

Knowledge of utility programs and utility cost effectiveness metrics.

Proven experience leading, managing, developing and mentoring a group is required.

Experience managing KPIs is required.

Successful management of cross-functional and matrix-managed teams is also required.

Strong marketing, operational, project management, and analysis skills are required.

Must exhibit service-based leadership and create an inspiring work environment while being metric driven.

Possesses strong business, operational and management skills.

Problem-solving skills with ability to work in diverse and matrixed organizations.

Project and resource management skills.

Collaboration skills to create effective cross-functional teams
