As a member of MWV’s Sourcing Execution Group, you will be responsible for the full life cycle management of the MWV’s investment in onsite parts and material inventory in order to provide production reliability at the lowest total cost of ownership. You will directly manage the processes of materials receiving, storage and management in inventory, cycle count for accuracy, external material repairs, kitting and delivery to maintenance and operations as requested, and material re-order based on item level min/max and inventory targets. Additionally, as you manage these responsibilities at the business unit, you will be expected to support all goals of the sourcing organization including WAPD, Diversity, SRM, CVM, Savings/Avoidance, Stakeholder Engagement, and Contract Compliance.
HOW YOU WILL IMPACT MWV
As the Storeroom Manager, you will supervise the activities and performance of a salaried staff and hourly workforce to meet defined business objectives and work in close collaboration with peer Stores Managers from other business locations to define and implement strategies for process improvement; service enhancement; and improvement in the reliability, performance and total cost of the materials supply chain. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Drive and support safety both within the department and throughout the operation
Tactical support of maintenance, operating, and packaging materials supply chain (daily Storeroom operations from receiving through to delivery and follow up service to requestors)
Process development, improvement, and problem resolution to ensure the “right” part is available, in the “right” place, at the “right” total cost to meet MWV reliability and cost objectives
Proactively develop the team of reports to a higher level of development and performance through effective leadership and coaching
Develops and provides leadership to strategic initiatives to optimize inventory investment – locally and division-wide (identify overmax, obsolete, slow moving inventory; shared spares; consignment; vendor managed inventory; vending solutions; free issue; kitting and delivery; and more)
Communicate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, which include Operations; Maintenance; Finance; Suppliers; Strategic Sourcing; OBE; P2P
Development and communication of KPI’s for Stores Operation and service relationship to the business unit while managing cost savings and avoidance goals
Responsible for inventory accuracy and the regular cycle counting of inventory data in SAP. Must comply will all corporate policies while meeting the Sarbanes Oxley requirements
Support the strategic sourcing process by providing input during the data analysis stage and also through engagement during the implementation and management process
As a member of the local procurement team, (along with the Supply Manger and Indirect Sourcing Manager) you will be the primary MRO supply chain representative for the business unit, for sourcing, and for managing supplier relationships
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 4 years of inventory/materials management or related experience in mechanical/maintenance; finance/business operations; or supply chain/strategic sourcing/logistics environments
Experience as a supervisor / manager of a group or department is strongly preferred
General maintenance knowledge, inventory control and computer skills (SAP/R3, Excel, and Microsoft Word) required
Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
SAP experience (performing transactions, process understanding) is preferred
Must be willing to travel up to 10%
