UHC, a national alliance of over 100 academic health centers, has an immediate opening for a Manager, Supply Chain Development in the Supply Chain Services department.
The Manager of Supply Chain Development supports UHC’s overall business goals by ensuring that UHC’s strategic initiatives are achieved through the goals and accomplishments of operational, financial and clinical improvement for the UHC membership, as well as excellent enterprise management. This position supports the retention and growth of UHC’s supply chain participants as well as manages cost reduction and value added services through the Insurance Program.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Support Supply Chain goal of member participant growth. Manage and facilitate UHC’s GPO RFP response which includes developing and preparing concise, professional and well-written responses to be delivered to existing or potential UHC members. The process involves managing timelines, managing others, collaboration with internal and external teams, analyzing and integrating responses from multiple sources, and developing and delivering presentations to existing or potential UHC members. Perform market competitive analysis and actively supports the recruitment of supply chain participants. Coordinate competitive analysis, in coordination with Novation, and presents to members and consultants.
-Manage the Insurance Program by ensuring that UHC offers relevant, cost-effective insurance products. Support and assist growth in UHC’s Insurance Program by performing market research, working with members, coordinating sales opportunities with insurance carriers and all efforts through third party. Provides content and coordination of annual Insurance meeting in conjunction with Risk, Quality, Safety and Legal Councils.
-Master’s degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or 5-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-5+ years of broad diversified knowledge of health care environment and group purchasing business.
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate the exchange of information with members and consultants.
-Strong project management and organizational skills to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
-Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
-Perform complex data analysis.
-Ability to make appropriate conclusions and recommendations from analysis.
-Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
-Demonstrated ability to effectively manage staff.
-Ability to market programs to members and aid in recruitment of members to new products and services.
-Contract negotiations with members and consultants.
-Strong grasp of contractual language and legal terms.
-Less than 20% travel required.
