Job Description :
Systems Engineering is responsible for architecture, development and implementation of the HeartFlow platform. The Platform hosts HeartFlow medical device as an external service to hospitals around the world. It is a multiple tier web infrastructure, geographically dispersed, encompassing a High Performance Computing cluster, a distributed file system and virtualization technology. We build the full stack; servers, bare metal and cloud, operating system, middleware abstraction, application containers and work directly with Software Engineering teams to develop deeply integrated products. Our goal is providing a platform and services layer for consistent development, while ensuring operational flexibility.

As the Systems Engineering leader, you will be responsible for enabling a team of systems engineers that will execute on the vision of building a distributed computing operating system, middleware, services layer abstraction, operational API and web applications - taking our vision of global cloud services delivery to reality. Success in this role requires very strong technical leadership skills, a broad background and understanding of every layer of the systems ecosystem. You will have strong ability in the areas of process development and management, organization, planning, and communication. It is absolutely critical that you have skills to manage, motivate, lead and gain the respect of a highly technical engineering team.

Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience building and running a high-transactional, 24x7 production environment
  • Strong system and network engineering skills including knowledge of security issues and solutions
  • Experience managing a team of system engineers
  • Experience delivering a world-class systems platform with scalability and resiliency
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise; designing and deploying global Linux based systems built using several open-source components
  • Ability to establish, follow, teach and improve operation procedures in a regulated environment
  • Experience leading development life cycle process and best practices
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to instill a culture of open communication, ownership and accountability
  • Proven track record of delivering results on time
  • Methodical and systematic
Desired Skills :
  • A familiarity with many of the following technologies: Saltstack , HAProxy, Mercurial, Git, Tomcat, Apache, RPM, YUM, MySQL, Nginx, ucarp, cacti, Kickstart, LDAP, Mail/Postfix, DNS, DHCP, KVM/QEMU, iPXE, TFTP, VPN, Palo Alto Networks, Force10, Aruba Wireless, 802.11b/a/g/n
  • Healthcare industry knowledge a plus
Educational Requirements, Work Experience :
  • Bachelor or graduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • 7+ years of related experience working as an individual contributor and as a manager in fast paced growth environments within both startups and established corporations
