What Marketing and Product Mgmt contributes to CareFusion

Marketing and Product Management is responsible for defining the market strategy, including product offering, pricing, positioning, distribution and promotion to drive the overall success of the business.

What is expected of you for success in your role

Demonstrates understanding and experience in product/market management
Identifies market opportunities, develops, implements and manages solutions, and provides subject matter expertise in complex situations
Assesses financial implications, including profitability and viability, for complex product/market portfolios or segments that have significant organizational impact
Understands and manages lifecycle implications and make recommendations to achieve sustainable economic success for complex product/market portfolios or segments that have significant organizational impact
Provides guidance or directs others in the lifecycle process to achieve economic success
Downstream product management marketing experience
Global management of the Product line in market
Coordination and execution of international go to market strategies.

Accountabilities in this role

By working in 3 main areas: New Product Development, IT best practices, and Internal / External customers, accomplish the following:
Demonstrates a working understanding of the processes, objectives, and challenges of a system/functional area within assigned users/customers; articulates the benefits of a solution
Identifies and engages executive sponsors and key stakeholders in a system/functional area of assigned users/customers to expand relationships and learn how CareFusion can best meet their needs
Performs comprehensive planning/road mapping to help users visualize bottom line results of potential solution and/or post-sale to measure the value of implemented solutions or in defining new solutions against objectives
Engages in informal dialogue with users/customers and starts building trust with key influencers; gathers information about business challenges/drivers
Shares industry and customer knowledge with internal users/customers/Business Units and contributes to discussions regarding optimal product offerings, business plans, etc.
Proactively follows up with internal contacts and external customer end-users to ensure the CareFusion team is meeting or exceeding expectations; collaborates with others as necessary to resolve any unmet expectations
Questions current methods while evaluating broad implications, to develop practical improvements; focuses on achieving goals rather than a fear of failure
Approaches issues from multiple perspectives and collaborates with internal/external customers in generating creative, effective and practical solutions
Serves as a key contributor in addressing internal and external constituents needs
Drives profitability of solution mix
Builds and maintains high-level, long-term trusted advisor relationships in complex environments
Defines and/or measures performance of potential/implemented solutions versus expectations throughout the process; identifies potential gaps; conducts quarterly reviews with economic buyer
Strategically leverages the power of Design for establishing innovative Software/ Hardware solutions.
Drive the product design process through all phases of the product lifecycle from product/feature conceptualization through prototyping and detailed user interface/functionality design to implementation, with emphasis on Iterative, User-Centered Design processes.
Performs comprehensive studies pre-sale to help customer visualize bottom line results of potential solution and/or post-sale to measure the value of implemented solutions or in defining new solutions against objectives
Shares with internal CareFusion resources and external customer end-users throughout the process (pre-sale through post-sale) the demonstrated value/savings provided by solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering or Business related field
Minimum 5 years experience with business operations, business development, marketing or engineering leadership positions, health care industry preferred
Demonstrated ability in creating technical proposals for new products or product enhancements based upon customer requirements gathering including "voice of customer" and industry trends
Minimum 3 years related enterprise IT solutions experience including HIT connectivity, mobility, security, analytics, and remote monitoring
Ideal candidate would have past experience with CareFusion products
Experience managing relationships both internally and with external customers
Experience with vendor qualification, contracts, business relationships, and performance metrics
Develop and execute training courses on new software acceptance testing and transferred knowledge to other departments within the organization
Articulate in writing and in verbal communications reports/proposal to external and internal customers.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated proficiency in: Project management, planning and execution; Presentation development and delivery; Product documentation to include but not limited to, "Sales Launch Packages", etc.
