-Monitors the performance of the accounting process and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness; elevate appropriate risk issues to VP, Operations for review
-Works with Reinsurance Accounting staff to ensure appropriate GL set up for new A&H accounts
-Works with Reinsurance Accounting staff to ensure accuracy of final Reinsurance
processing/cessions statements, provide direction as necessary
-Manages the ongoing development of the A&H Processing database, Gus, via enhancement and testing
-Reviews all Profit Commission calculations, forward to VP, Operations for sign off
-Trouble shoots accounting disputes; communicate any financial or operational exposures to VP, Operations
-Monitors process for processing direct premium; elevate appropriate risk issues to VP, Operations
-Develops and maintains a new account installation process that ensures the data capture of all key contacts as well as the distribution of procedures; maintain and confirm annually
-Assists in development of procedures for all support disciplines for internal and external usage
-Maintains procedures for all disciplines on an ongoing basis; update and publish procedures annually
-Collates data in order to respond to data calls
-Reviews draft management and reinsurance agreements for administration issues to ensure compliance with company standards, make recommendations as required.
-Develops and maintains Audit schedule for all disciplines
-Develops and disseminates Audit procedures for premium accounting, compliance; Assist in the development and dissemination of Audit procedures for all other disciplines
-Maintains Audit procedures for all disciplines
-Assists with or acts as primary resource for Audits of varying disciplines and due diligence review as necessary
-Reviews and compiles audit results to ensure compliance with company standards; produce reports of audit results on a timely and periodic basis; elevate appropriate risk issues to VP, Operations
-Assists in the formulation of policies, guidelines, strategic plans, programs, standards, and techniques necessary to carry out specific objectives
-Manages Administration staff including mentoring, maintaining morale, motivating, training, handling employee relation issues, performance issues, etc.
-Maintains relationships with strategic partners including Intermediaries, Reinsurers, Partner Carriers, MGUs, TPAs, Consultants, etc.
-Assists in coordinating priorities for all administration staff
-Attends industry conferences
-Responds to other ad hoc requests as necessary
-In-depth product knowledge of all A&H products
-Broad understanding of multiple disciplines needed to support profit center
-Strong relationships with A&H industry players including consultants, vendors, intermediaries, reinsurers, etc.
-Ability to trouble-shoot problems / identify solutions /recognize financial or legal exposures
-Strong risk management skills / in-depth understanding of account mechanics and various structures
-Ability to travel as needed
-Strong auditing / due diligence abilities
-Strong understanding of mechanics of MGUs and TPAs
