Job Description

The Manager - Architecture will lead the planning, development, specification and communication of an architecture domain and solution architecture. Locations available Tampa, Florida and Morristown, NJ.

Functional Responsibilities:
Leads creating, analyzing and review of assigned architecture domain or solution architecture.

Collaborates with other architects to ensure integrity of assigned domain or solution architecture.

Leads or participates on multiple, complex or large-scale matrixed team projects as assigned.

Leads or participates in project planning, including financials.

Participates in cross-LOB programs or projects.

Ensures maintenance and quality of related project documents and/or architecture artifacts.

Leads planning and development of current and/or target state reference architecture strategies and artifacts.

Collaborates with other domain architects to ensure a coordinated inter-domain strategy.

Leads planning and execution of projects in the area of assigned responsibility.

Leads planning and supports governance efforts.

Advises Solution architects in their more complex solution designs.

Provides leadership in the area of developing standards, architectural governance, architectural design, and IT best practices.

Broad, deep understanding of multiple industry technologies and reference architectures.

Leads the development of horizontal solutions for projects / programs.

Partners with application development teams in validating and implementing proposed solutions.

Leads overall design of organization’s relational and dimensional databases across multiple platforms and computing environments.

Provides broad understanding of databases across DBMS technologies.

Develops architecture / blueprints based on enterprise business requirements, and evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems.

Leads planning and development of current and / or target state architecture operating model.

Leads definition of enterprise architecture directives, goals, and strategies.

Leads or participates in project planning, including financials.

Participates in cross-LOB programs or projects.

Ensures alignment of enterprise architecture program components with business strategies, capabilities, or project requirements.

Manage functional team of architects – inclusive of staff personal development, budgeting, and team oversight.

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred or 10+ years of equivalent work experience.

Required Experience:
Minimum of 8 years of related architecture experience including:

4 years of prior experience in Capital Markets is a must

Previous experience and well-rounded exposure to a broad range of technologies (Microsft.Net, open systems, J2EE, MOM, and ESB etc.)

Demonstrated expertise in at least one architecture discipline, and experience in at least one other

Advanced knowledge of multiple architecture disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience and/or trained in one or more formal architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, or Zachman

Proficient at working with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Experienced in complex project planning and execution

Previous experience understanding, analyzing, applying, and communicating abstract architectural concepts

4 years of experience in a supervisory or management role leading a matrixed team

Experience effectively interacting with associates at all levels

Previous experience and proficient at working independently with minimal supervision, and consistently meets all expectation

Previous experience and ability to lead and/or work simultaneously on multiple large, complex projects

Preferred Experience:
Experience with trading systems, Investment accounting systems, Financial Data Models is a plus

Less than 10%
