UPMC Health Plan is hiring a Full-Time Manager Clinical Training & QA to help support the HPBMS-Clinical Trng & Develop Department for its UPMC Health Plan location.

Provide support to the Clinical Training and Development department in the areas of health coach training , quality assurance monitoring, supervision, and staff development, as well as participate in health promotion/disease prevention program development projects. Create, co- conduct, monitor and evaluate an ongoing, systematic training and performance management program for a cadre of health coaches in the multi-modal delivery of an expanding array of innovative, evidence-based health management programs The ability to establish scaled performance standards, , monitor quality of services delivered, and provide staff development through on-going group and individual supervision is essential. Responsible for training and supervising quality assurance review specialists in monitoring health coaching skills and program delivery skills for health coaches across the Health Plan, including but not limited to lifestyle, disease management, behavioral health, PCBM¿s, and transition care coordinators. Also responsible for overseeing Member Engagement Skills and Resources and Referral training for all member-facing employees (e.g. member services, clinical operations, and short-term disability) across the Health Plan. Must be experienced in creating training-related materials (e.g. syllabi, training guides, power point presentations, role-play scenarios and
other interactive learning experiences) and to standardize and document training processes and procedures

Responsibilities

Create, co-conduct, monitor, and evaluate an on-going, systematic training and performance management program for a cadre of health coaches in the multi-modal delivery of an expanding array of innovative, evidence-based health management programs.
Establish scaled performance standards, monitor quality of services delivered, and provide staff development through ongoing group and individual supervision.is essential.
Provide training and supervision to quality assurance review specialists in monitoring health coaching skills and program delivery skills for health coaches across the Health Plan, including but not limited to lifestyle, disease management, behavioral health, PCBM¿s, and transition care coordinators.
Oversee Member Engagement Skills and Resources and Referral training for all member-facing Health Plan employees (e.g., clinical operations, short-term disability, and member services representatives).
Create training-related materials (e.g. syllabi, coaching guides, power point presentations, role-play scenarios and other interactive learning experiences) and standardize and document training processes and procedures.
Evaluate staffing requirements to ensure effective use of resources.
Manage educate, train, and support career development needs of direct reports.
Develop department policies and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree in Psychology, Health Education, Exercise Physiology, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health or a related field.
5 years of combined experience in health coaching, teaching, skills training, curriculum development, supervision, and performance evaluation related to health promotion/
disease prevention.
PhD in Health Education, Health Promotion, or Psychology with a specialty in Behavioral Medicine or Health Psychology preferred.
Strong cognitive-behavioral background with a working knowledge of health behavior change theories and models (e.g. Transtheoretical Model and Motivational Interviewing).
Telephonic coaching and quality assurance monitoring experience required.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Power Point; experienced in web-based navigation. Train-the-trainer experience desirable.
Knowledge of the health insurance industry preferred. Ability to travel.

Licensure/Certifications

Coaching certification preferred.
