The Consumer Promotions Manager manages the development, approval and on-going stewardship of individual brand or platform consumer promotion marketing plans for a portfolio of businesses. The role of the Manager CP, is to build integrated consumer promotion programs and work with brand teams to translate marketing objectives into functional consumer promotion strategies and tactics. Additionally, this role works with and collaborates with other ConAgra Foods Global Marketing Centers of Excellence (COE) to ensure linkage between content distribution channels (e.g. interactive, public relations, media) and creative. This role also manages day to day promotional agency relationships and projects; and identifies and assesses the viability and appropriateness of emerging consumer promotion trends for marketing plans. |
Leads annual planning process for CP, including analysis/key learnings, budget development, and ROI calculations.
Develop and execute consumer promotion programs, which may involve purchase incentives, promotional overlays, in-store, on-pack, and online.
Manages the work of external agencies and vendors in support of the above.
Coordinates across the Brand teams and Global Marketing COE’s to ensure strategic linkage across initiatives. Also works with CPC and Shopper Marketing.
Strategizes and executes against multi-brand events and bundled usage occasions (BTS, holiday, Super Bowl, summer).
Oversees day-to-day budget maintenance and invoice payment.
Expertise in driving innovative, extraordinary approaches to traditional promotion tactics and brings experiences from other aspects of business including the blurred and intersecting lines of how consumer promotion, social and digital medias work together.
Experience and interest in identifying, negotiating and execution of sponsorships and partnerships
Functional expertise in Consumer Promotions; familiar with promotional tools in-home, in-store, and online. Including: Couponing (traditional and digital), on-packaging promotions, prizing expertise.
Ability to identify trends in consumer promotions and how they now are synonymous and brought to life within other COE functions including social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, Four Square, etc.
Proficiency in coordinating CP efforts in cross-functional teams internally including but not limited to Brand, Business Development, Purchasing, Operations, Production Scheduling, Inventory Deployment, Finance, Legal and other COE’s (Consumer Insights, Package Design, Advertising, PR, Media, Interactive, Sponsorships, Marketing Operations) to drive for impactful promotions initiatives.
Business-oriented with a demonstrated ability to drive for results; must be financially astute to discern volume and ROI.
Analytical abilities to deliver key learnings and determine marketing ROI.
Written skills for Powerpoint presentations, POV’s, recos to Brand/Mgmt, creative briefs, sales bulletins.
Budget management in MPC and Launch systems as well as Excel spreadsheets.
Detail-orientation and follow-through, as it’s the little things is where the mistakes might occur.
