Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Pre-Award and Regulatory Compliance, responsible for and supervises pre-award activities at BMC. Duties include: reviews and ensures that grant and contract applications and renewals are complete prior to submission; ensures that applications are compliant with BMC and sponsor requirements; reserves as primary contact for Principal Investigators regarding grant and contract applications; work on special projects as assigned by Associate Director. Provide supervision to Proposal Development Specialists. Provide backup to Supervisor of Regulatory Compliance, as directed by Associate Director.
Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance or Business or Health Administration.
A minimum of three years experience in pre- and post-award Grants Administration with at least a couple of years of supervisory experience.
Has demonstrated working knowledge and expert application of federal (and knows or has the capability of learning state and local) regulations and guidelines for the conduct of research and service-related programs. These regulations include OMB Circulars A-110, A-133, A-122 and preferably OASC-3 and PHS grants policy statement.
Requires excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and patiently with a diverse clientele and individuals with various levels of knowledge in situations involving competing opinions, significant deadlines, pressure, and multiple competing tasks. Has demonstrated excellent presentation and organizational skills. Performs with high level of attention to detail.
Must be able to work independently, and make independent decisions in a multi-faceted, multiple-priority, fast-paced environment. Has demonstrated professional manner and level of confidence.
Must be a dedicated team player, with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
Requires a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel software packages. Individual should have strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of analytical ability .
