Description

This position reports directly to the VP of ISC, and supports Program Directors and their individual value streams. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing process, to include safety, quality, delivery, inventory, cost, budget, continuous improvement and talent development, for the Austin factory. Functional responsibilities include leading manufacturing, quality, on-site tactical procurement and interfacing with Maryland based strategic procurement leader Responsibilities include creating and implementing plans for effective and efficient use of manpower, factory floor space, equipment and infrastructure.

Achieving program cost out targets through a combination of process improvement and supplier negotiation

Creating and implementing supply chain strategies resulting in lower cost and higher levels of collaboration and partnering with key suppliers

Implementing “best practices” to quickly identify the largest drivers of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost

Overall management of Manufacturing, to include planning, processes, personnel, material handling, shipping, receiving, performance to cost/budget, and coordination with other groups to meet AOP and business objectives.

Ensures that documented processes and procedures are utilized, followed, improved and maintained in accordance with organizational standards.

Evaluates personnel needs for staffing, training, performance and morale, ensuring that necessary training is coordinated and conducted.

Responsible for resolution of various complex issues that arise on an as needed basis. Proactively initiates solutions and risk mitigation.

Responsible for the establishment, tracking and achievement of overall ISC key metrics, to include, but not limited to, on-time delivery, hours per unit, budgets and cycle time.

Responsible for manufacturing engineering, providing inputs back to the design teams on manufacturability of products (Design for Manufacturability).

Develops and maintains a positive relationship with internal and external customers.

Embraces lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement objectives with a focus on the identification and elimination of all waste.

Responsible for the overall management of facilities and space management. Facilities Management, coordinating with landlord and/or contractors for repairs, maintenance, and other issues. Responsible for coordinating and planning all in-facility moves.

Responsible for all material management functions to include government property management, receiving, shipping and HAZMAT.

Responsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program for the site.

Develops manufacturing estimates to support proposals.

Manages Sales, Inventory and Operations Plan (SIOP) process for Austin site.

Training Coordinator, responsible for managing the overall training plan for all ISC personnel, ensuring compliance with all certifications, qualifications and training requirements

Qualifications

5-10 years of experience required in ISC

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.

Green Belt preferred; Black Belt highly desired

Proven leadership experience

Evidence of a success oriented, “can do” attitude in a fast paced environment required.

Must be a US citizen and able to attain a security clearance.

This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)., Non-U.S. persons selected must meet eligibility requirements for access to export-restricted information. , The ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
